That Which is Good

In Tension, Real and Imagined Ward is exploring six inherent conflicts in organizational creation.

He begins to explore the tension with Problem vs Difficulty in Make Systems that Break Better.

I was hinting at the Productivity vs Quality tension when I started exploring the Essence of Quality. I believe that the context within which we define quality is essential.

Call this a pink plane, Blue Plane moment.

If we are going to reimagine, we must decide if we are going to develop a solution within the paradigm of the dominant mindset, one that gave rise to allopoeitic systems, or a new mindset, based on Autopoietic Systems. That which is focuses our meaning-making on an Audacious Aspiration in a Blue Plane.

A key distinction is that value creation is a bi-product of a healthy organism, not its purpose, embodying the Concept of Obliquity. Its primary purpose of being is, instead, itself.

Such a system requires a focus on that which is good within each an every holonic element. Quality is comprised of wholeness with inherent goodness - what we could call patternistic elegance - that delights others.

A radical premise, for sure, but, one that lies as the core of the Agile Experience and perhaps, essential for building Robust Resilience that allows for fast, iterative growth.

And, perhaps, lighting a path for us to boldly address the question: Can Corporations Learn?
