Psychological Safety

Being in a space of psychological safety feels like belonging. It is a space where we are lovingly held, we are heard and seen, a space where we can begin to be known. There is no fear here, for there is no judgement, just admiration and celebration.

Psychological safety is created by us - by people and relationships. It emerges from conversations where we commit to Deep Listening. Our relationships with each other can be quickly built when psychological safety is present.

Psychological safety does not take years to build, it can be curated in a matter of an hour. It is dependent on how we show up. We create psychological safety by being non-judgemental deep listeners who lean in to each other, cultivating our Compassionate Wisdom.

Confident Courage thrives in an environment of psychological safety. We find that we are more willing to be vulnerable, uncomfortable and authentic. When fear is non-existent, wonderful stories emerge.

Creating a space of psychological safety requires intentional behaviours. Safety is reinforced by multiple experiences of others acting in supportive ways - listening, witnessing, encouraging, celebrating. It is through these actions that we empower others to shift the way in which they present.

Psychological safety gives others the permission to be courageous, to reveal their authentic selves and to shine. Creating an environment of safety requires conscious behaviour choices. In order for others to show up differently, we must first show up differently.
