Paradigm Shift

We use the term paradigm shift all the time. But it is actually a fairly recent concept, one that dates back to the 1962 publication of Thomas Kuhn 's book _The Structure of Scientific Revolutions_ .

The book itself represented a paradigm shift.

Kuhn was exploring how our scientific understanding had evolved. He found that there were moments in time when new concepts forced radically new models.

Existing models of understanding would incrementally evolve until new understanding began to emerge that didn't fit. This path would continue until a radical restructuring of the model appeared that integrated these new concepts.

A struggle between adherents of the old and new models would then erupt, until there was a Tipping Point and the new model became the dominant one.

The Agile Mindset is a paradigm shift that underpins our transition from an industrial economy to a creative economy. It is transforming how we create value, how we run our companies, and how we might teach. A paradigm shift that is empowered by Episodic Learning.
