Interruptions are not breakdowns in a production line of value creation, but moments of critical creative potential when new value mysteriously manifests.

Can it be true that our most important work happens when others can't tell that we are working? And that the management reflex is to suggest a path to restore tempo without fully exploiting the creative opportunity?

We recognize human limitations constrain when and for how long sufficient focus can be maintained to solve difficult problems.

> The depth, quality and value of programming decisions will be limited by the programmers ability to concentrate.

Programmers themselves can become alarmed when comfortable progress stops. Were this an exam where you were suppose to have already learned the answer then a sinking feeling is appropriate.

> Use the fear that often accompanies a decision not-yet-made as a motivation. Try to compare your position within an episode to similar points in previously successful episodes.

Creative success then leads to more creative success and this might require years of experience to shake throught patterns learned in school.
