This week I am meeting each afternoon with a group of educators from Australia who are doing their first DIG.
We launched the Down Under DIG on Monday. Yesterday they reflected on their first day's experience, where they researched their base and scrambler and began to combine it with their own interests and curiosity.
Two of the participants remarked on an experience that was all too familiar for me. David talked about how insights were sensed while he was on a walk, Kym talked about ideas that had appeared in the middle of the night. But neither of them were able to capture these important insights – they were now forgotten.
We talked about how these emergent insights challenge us to find way of capturing them in the moment. If not, they may be forever gone. For me, I use the 'to do' app on my phone and keep the phone within reach for the middle of night for these insights I think of as 'sprites'. I have yet to come up with a good way to capture sprites when I run.
We have talked about the Monadic Vortex as being the wellspring of emergence. What was interesting to me was to see this experience of emergence happening so quickly for these educators as the walked into the space created by the Prime Pattern of their base, scrambler, and personal interest.
